Here’s who I was able to see and/or hear while in Tennessee:
Groupo Fantasma, The Felice Brothers, Vampire Weekend, Lez Zeppelin, Umphrey’s McGee, The Bluegrass Allstars (Bulla, Bush, Douglas, Fleck, Meyer and Sutton), The Swell Season, Willie Nelson, Chris Rock, Superjam (Gogol Bordello, Les Claypool, Kirk Hammet), Ozomatli, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Avett Brothers, BB King, Jack Johnson, Pearl Jam, Sigur Ros, Rogue Wave, Orchestra Baobab, Yonder Mountain String Band, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, Mike Farris featuring the Roseland Rhythm Revue, Jake Shimabukuro and Widespread Panic.
Even though I was sure that I would I didn’t set foot in the comedy tent, the cinema tent, the hairwashing salon. Didn’t take a yoga class, painting class, bellydance class or so many other things. There just stopped being any extra hours in the day. No point in belaboring that but here are the acts I would have checked out if there were:
Janeane Garofalo, Back Door Slam, Grand Old Party, Soul rebels Brass Band (hell, anyone in the New Orleans tent), Adele, Stephen Marley, The Raconteurs, M.I.A., State Radio, My Morning Jacket, Ben Folds, Cat Power, Iron and Wine, Little Feat, Levin Helm, Against Me, O.A.R, Israel Vibration, Robert Randolph’s Revival, Aimee Mann, Solomon Burke, Jakob Dylan, Death Cab for Cutie….the list goes on and on.
