No honey, that’s not a side effect, you’re just getting old

Anyone here who has been through treatment has had some funky side effects (a couple of which we only talk about with each other).  The amazing benefit of communicating with someone else who has been there is not feeling alone.  Well for a while some of the side effects of the aromatase inhibitors were put off as aging, being out of shape and worst of all for some, all in your head.

In 2005, Breast Cancer Action initiated a survey to collect information from women about AI side effects they were experiencing. In 2007, they released a preliminary report based on the first half of the responses.

In June 2008, BCA released the follow-up report, Side Effects Revisited: Women’s Experiences with Aromatase Inhibitors based on nearly 1,200 responses.

It’s right on their site and you’ll see you’re not alone.

I will imminently be starting my treatment and would really appreciate if I could get in touch some time to find out more about the things we don’t talk about except to each other!!!
Also do you mind if I add you to my blog roll, please let me know.
