Anti nausea patch

Exciting announcement yesterday that there is a new product called Sancuso which is an anti nausea PATCH that works for up to 5 days to control nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy. It has been approved by the FDA for use in the United States.

I have been unable to find out how much the patch is going to cost.  I had excellent control taking Emend but there are those out there who have difficulty swallowing pills and Emend was approximately $375 (Thank God for insurance).

The developer, Prostrsakan, states that they have developed a patient assistance program available to “any qualified patient who would benefit from it.”

  1. I have MS and I take Zofran. I’ve had really good luck with it. Of course, the best and cheapest anti nausea medicine is marijuana. Republicans will never legalize it because one of the side effects is it turns you into a Democrat.

  2. I think you’re absolutely right about that. Lord only knows how much they’re going to charge for the patch but progress if it can help someone who isn’t tolerating the oral meds it’s worth a shot.

  3. Sounds like a good thing, yeah I think we still payed about $80 for the Emends even after insurance – ouch!
