1. I’m giving mine away for free.

That’s right folks. When I was diagnosed one of the first things I did was go buy a wig. I assumed that I was going to need to wear it all the time so as to not freak out my five year old. Who knew that what was going to freak out my five year old was a wig.

I can’t find a picture of the exact wig and color so two pictures:

I want to give people time to decide and get their information to me. Leave your e-mail in the comment section and tell me why you want the wig, is it for you, a friend, an organization. Everyone who shares the information by June 23 rd will be eligible. Readers, if you read a story in the comments that you feel strongly about tell me that as well. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.

  1. Interesting that the wig freaked her out. My kids were young (8 & 12) and my daughter liked me better bald too. What freaked them both out was that I bought two wigs, one that looked close to my hair color (then dark brown) the other a long blondish. They hated the blond. I loved it, but didn’t wear it around the house (around them). I hope that someone that really wants it gets your wig, great idea!

  2. So far I have had one chemo treatment and this weekend all my hair came out.
How do I get a nice wig ?
I want a pepper and salt one. Not too curly

  3. Ruby – Your wigs choices depend on your budget. You town may have a wig shop, your local cancer groups may have some and http://www.tlcdirect.org has a really good variety and good prices. Good luck!

  5. If there are more takers for a wig than you know what to do with, I have a wig I wore once. Dark brown, longer than the blond version and shorter and darker than the brunette version pictured above.

Happy to ship it, and throw in the comb, shampoo and hairnet. A fancy salon stylist K know gave it a free trim and comb-out after I got it.

I’m with you, I could only stand a scarf or beret when I didn’t go commando!

  6. Hee I think I have the same wig! The red/brunette one! Wore it maybe 10 times. I mostly went the pirate route.

  7. I hate that I spent so much and never wore it. Geez, If I’m going to drop that much cash on myself there should be shoes involved.
